Dr. P L Alagammai is a Consultant Medical Gastroenterologist at Meenakshi Mission Hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Madurai.
Dr. Alagammai has a brilliant academic track record with a collection of medals to her name. Dr. Alagammai completed her graduation from Madurai Medical College (Madurai) bagging the title of the ‘Best Outgoing Student’ of her batch. She secured first rank at University level for her MD (General Medicine) degree which she finalized through Madras Medical College earning the coveted Gold Medal for the same. This was followed by joining the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore in the year 2010, where she enjoyed a three and half year association. Dr. Alagammai considers this to be the golden period of her life as CMC taught her much more than academics. Here, she not only gained training in Gastroenterology but simultaneously learnt valuable traits like ethics, compassion, sincerity, responsibility, confidence, truth, honesty, hardwork, patient oriented practice, selflessness, respect, that go to define a fine doctor.
A keen follower of academics in her domain of speciality, Dr. Alagammai has showcased several poster presentations coupled with publications. As a faculty at medical conferences, she has delivered lectures that are informative, engaging, participatory and effective.
